WE NEED YOU! WE WANT YOU! WE LOVE YOU!
Our club is entirely run on the generosity of our members. Your time & dedication is appreciated, and truly needed to make sure that everyone who wants to, has the opportunity to play baseball at Windsor!
When you register to play at Windsor, you also pay a $150 volunteer levy. Throughout the season, if you accrue 6 hours of approved volunteer time at the club, this money will be refunded to you. It’s CRITICAL that you email us to let us know when your volunteer hours are complete.
EVERY TEAM NEEDS:
- A coach
- An assistant coach
- An Executive Officer (EO – team manager)
- A Scorer (ideally 2-3!)
- An umpire (ideally 2-3!)
- Canteen volunteers / club clean-up crew
There are also a ton of other jobs we need help with at the club – from socials to sausage sizzles, we need your ideas, passion and time! If you can help, email our awesome Volunteer Coordinator Bek below!
Email us now!how to be a coach
Step 1: Be awesome!
Step 2: Email us, with your Expression of Interest.
Step 3: Make sure you have a Blue Card. ALL people who have a responsible role at our club (coaches, umpires, scorers etc.) must have a Blue Card.
Step 4:Complete the coaching coaching. That’s not a typo. To be an accredited coach, there is some online training you need to complete. Check out the online training on the Baseball Queensland website. Our head coach, Cookie, can help you figure out what training you need to complete.
Scorers – statistics ROYALTY!
Do you love data, stats & using pretty coloured pens??
If you answered yes to even one of these, scoring might just be for you! Why not read a bit more about it at the QLD Baseball Scorers Website.
Scoring is a vital part of our game. Pitch counts, RBIs, Fielding errors – scorers keep the true record of the game.
We are very lucky at Windsor to have Ann & Danica as our amazing scoring coordinators. If you think you would like to learn how to score – or if you already know how and are keen to score for a team (or two!) please let us know!
Make sure you have your Blue Card!
Email Ann and Danica now!Umpires – make the calls
Every game needs to have a base umpire and a plate umpire. We are always keen to have more accredited umpires in our club! Players who are 13+ can learn to be an umpire. Umpires cannot officiate games in divisions above their age bracket (e.g. JL-age umpires can umpire LL, but not SL). Adults may need to have their Blue Card.
Queensland Baseball Umpires Assoc. runs courses so that you can become an accredited umpire. They also update their Facebook Page regularly.
If you’re interested in umpiring, Ben, our Umpire Coordinator would love to hear from you!

Our EOs are effectively the team managers. It is the role of the EO to:
- Support the coaches
- Communicate team game times & training times to the team
- Assign canteen/clean up crew duties to members of your team, when your team is assigned those roles by the club
- Help run the dugout for Tee Ball -> Little League if the coaches request it.
If you would like to EO for your team, please contact your coach and let them know! You will need a Blue Card.
Windsor Diner & clean-up crew
Our Windsor Diner is an amazing drawcard for our club.
Serving up some of the best baseball food in the city, it can get pretty busy in there! By sharing the club with the Brisbane Bandits, we also need to provide servers/cooks during Bandits games. It’s a great revenue raiser for our club!
Each week, teams will be assigned to provide volunteers to cover the Diner, and to help keep our grounds clean & tidy.
Working with Children (Blue Cards)
People who DON’T require a blue card:
- Person volunteering under the age of 18.
- Parent volunteering where their child plays for Windsor Royals (not necessarily their game).
- Person who already has a Blue Card exemption card … eg Teacher, Police Officer etc
People who DO require a Blue Card are:
- Anyone over 18 who is not a parent of a child playing at Windsor Royals …. ie. A grandparent, player, supporter etc.
- Person over 18 who umpires at a different level…. ie. Metro, State, National tournaments.
